I find that a majority of people take this chapter the wrong way. Like they approach it from the wrong direction. It’s like they think that they are supposed to accomplish these things… Like we’re all suppose to meet up to these standards and check off if we’ve done all of it.
How often do we value man’s opinion over God’s? Let our minds be consumed with “What will God think?” rather than our constant worry of “what will people think?” God upholds the righteous, even when other patronize, posture and sneer.
I pray that we become a generation that is, more than anything else, so helplessly and passionately in love with Jesus. I no longer pray that we pray more, read the Bible more, or serve more. What matters is that we become so established in the love of Jesus that we can’t help but love Him oh-so-much too. When Christ’s love is our focus, we become unstoppable. When Christ’s love has filled us and satisfied us, nothing can beat us. We are, in Him, more than conquerors.
“Come to Me when you are hurting, and I will soothe your pain. Come to Me when you are joyful, and I will share your Joy, multiplying it many times over. I am all you need, just when you need it. Your deepest desires find fullment in Me alone. This is the age of self help. Bookstores abound with books about “taking care of number one,” making oneself the center of all things. The main goal of these methodologies is to become self-sufficient and confident. You, however, have been called to take a “road less traveled”: continual dependence on Me. True confidence comes from knowing you are complete in My Presence. Everything you need has its counterpart in Me. (Jesus Calling)”—(via spirituallysingle)
“I’ve learned to stay in contact with the Lord all day by saying little prayers. I pray in the shower, in the car, while making my kids beds…. basically at all times. Many find it hard to pray because of busy schedules but if you do it this way you can pray anywhere and at anytime. So, instead of fitting Jesus into your schedule you’ll be centering your life around Jesus.”—(via spirituallysingle)
There are so many things that need to be done this week. But I still have peace. I still have hope. It’s because I have Jesus Christ with me. I don’t have to worry about time, He’s Lord over it. I don’t have to worry about strength; He strengthens me. I don’t have to worry about resources; He is…
“Your situation might not make sense right now. You pray but nothing seems to move, it’s as if time is standing still and your life is paused. You wonder, “why is nothing happening, why are things not working out”. You can’t seem to open any doors because they’ve all been locked. Confusion turns into frustration leaving you feeling hopeless. It’s in this defining moment in which you must take a leap of faith and believe that God is in control. Believe that everything happening or not happening is part of a bigger plan a plan you cannot yet see. God has seen the end, it all makes sense to Him and in due time it’ll all make sense to you too. This is the time to trust Him. Don’t worry He knows what he’s doing.”—SpirituallySingle (via spirituallysingle)
